Why is this important?

This muscle is directly impacts the psoas muscle. If hamstring is weak, the psoas gets more tight and dysfunctional.

How does it work exactly?

When you strengthen the hamstring muscle, the psoas muscle is allowed to relax. It increases circulation and cortisol decreases.
